“Why do I need a designer to complete this renovation or new build?” is the question I’m most frequently asked. People often follow this question up with comments such as, “I know what I like, so I’ll source all the products.” or “I’ll just work with the architect.”

I believe that people have the misconception that a designer will cost them more money, but in the end, when we are part of the team, we save the client money.

FAQ #1: When will my project be finished?

This is a loaded question because there are two different parts to a new build and or renovation. We can't stress enough that it's all in the planning.

It is essential to take the proper time to plan every detail to your project before a shovel breaks ground or a hammer hits the walls to start demo. If you don't have all the details worked out before this, your project can take much longer than anticipated.

FAQ #2: How much do you charge for your design services?

In a large project, there are many unknowns as far as cost goes. Instead of diving in and then realizing later during the project that you may not be able to afford to finish, we offer the Exploratory Design Phase.

We start by sketching up plans for your project, gathering costs for finishes by asking you strategic questions on would you like, and then meeting with the Builder/Contractor to receive Labor and Construction Costs.

We then meet to help you adjust your plans to fit your budget and goals. This design fee is for the Exploratory Phase — if you choose to move forward with the project, the cost is credited to the overall design fee.

FAQ #3: Will you help choose furnishings for my home?

We are a full service design firm, so yes, we will be your partner from start to finish. Whether you choose to purchase all new furniture or incorporate existing pieces, our process lets us take care of everything for you. We give you the guidance you need to confidently make decisions that will transform your space and maximize your investment.

FAQ #4: Where do you source products?

We have access to many trade partners for products, as well as professional relationships with tradesman and women to help complete your design. We are not limited to only sourcing through our trade partners, and we may mix in some retail or antique items in order to complete your project within your desired level of investment.
